Home Base Unit: Overview

The Home Base Unit (HBU) is an accessory to the MTEC. The Home Base Unit is a multi-functional home media component containing an HD television tuner/receiver IC chipset, HD radio tuner/receiver and computer.

The HBU will receive digital High Definition signals from both television and radio broadcast stations.

The HBU serves as an HD digital television set top box providing integration capability with home media centers. The HD signals can be received from either wireless terrestrial, wireless broadband (satellite dish) or wired broadband (cable, DSL or fiber optic) sources. Signal decoding will be achieved via integrated digital tuner circuitry.
